In two hours time you will get loads of tips and strategies for horn and string arrangement from one of the most experienced studio musicians and producers in funk, soul, gospel and jazz. Philip will give you his vision on arranging for horns and strings. You will study his recordings and get inside them, analyzing voicings, melodic motifs and techniques used to write HOT horn arrangements for modern music.
Through this class, you will understand the horn section like never before, opening the door to a vast new world of creativity and musical wonder. In addition, in this class Philip will give you his concept on improvising through ‘sweet spots’.
As an experienced producer for several big names in the music industry he can help and advise you on these matters like no other.

Philip’s musical roots lie in Texas Funk, Alabama Gospel, New Orleans Jazz and Nashville Soul.
His multi-faceted career was shaped in his hometowns of Nashville, Dallas and Los Angeles. Philip has performed on stages around the world such as the Essence Festival, Montreaux Jazz Fest, Jam Cruise 2020, United Center Chicago, North Sea Jazz Festival. In addition to 12 Grammy´s for his work as an arranger, he was awarded the winner of the 2000 International Trumpet Guild Jazz Solo Competition.
