A new initiative by Paul van Kemenade: a band with Finnish drummer Markku Ounaskari (1967), famous Moroccan singer Majid Bekkas (1957) – also a master on oud and guimbre – together with duo Busch & Van Kemenade.

Majid Bekkas is a celebrity in Morocco and the Arab music world. He is associated with gnawa, the mystical music from North Africa and inspired by traditional African and Indian music and jazz. He explored blues and soul and formed the ‘Gnaoua Blues Band’. He was part of numerous international festivals and played with Archie Shepp, Joachim Kühn and Klaus Doldinger, among others.
