Coaching

Lothar teaches you to improve your saxophone and clarinet playing at any level. His main goal is for you to learn how to achieve your musical goals. How? By focusing on the essential goals and challenges of your playing. He always works with you on one subject or aspect at a time. This can be your sense of form in an improvisation, or a technical issue. He also inspires you to creatively come up with your own exercises.

Collaborations

In a career spanning more than 25 years, Lothar has performed and recorded with respected bandleaders in jazz and improvised music, notably Tobias Klein, Tom Arthurs, Jorrit Dijkstra, Benoit Delbecq, Jim Black, Ingrid Laubrock, Steve Arguelles, Julie Sassoon, Jaap Blonk and Harrie Spaarnay among many others. Valued for his exceptional command of tone, virtuosic phrasing and mastery of musical settings from contemporary classical music to jazz and free improvisation, Lothar continues to seek out new lineups and colleagues to experiment and collaborate with.
