Jascha: “In this course, we will explore the fundamental techniques of playing pop, R&B, disco, jazz, and rock cello.

Most of us cellists, and string players in general, have been immersed in classical music training throughout our musical journeys. We spent countless hours mastering the art of breathing life into the sound, phrasing melodic lines, and shaping note endings.

However, these classical techniques can sometimes hinder our ability to excel in pop music. Consequently, we must adopt a fresh approach to sound production and phrasing.

To provide a glimpse into how we can deviate from classical traditions, I have curated a series of play-along exercises in various styles for this course.”
